Discipline Explained
What is Sports Therapy?
Assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries — designed to get you back to the activity you love, stronger and more resilient than before.
Treatment plus training
Sports Therapy combines hands-on treatment (deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, joint mobilisation) with exercise rehabilitation. The goal isn’t just to relieve pain in the room — it’s to restore strength, stability, and confident movement so the problem doesn’t come back.
Every Sports Therapist at Elite Health is also a qualified Personal Trainer. That means your treatment plan and your training plan are designed by the same person — no gaps, no contradictory advice, no “ask your GP” when you just want to know what to do next.
How a typical session works
- Assessment. Detailed history, range-of-motion testing, and functional movement screening to identify the root cause.
- Hands-on treatment. Targeted Sports Massage, myofascial release, joint mobilisation, and other techniques to reduce pain and restore tissue quality.
- Rehabilitation programming. A specific exercise plan, built around your sport or activity, that you can do between sessions.
- Return-to-activity guidance. Realistic timelines and load-management advice so you don’t re-injure yourself by coming back too soon.
